SHARING IS CARING!

We’ve all felt those intense cravings for sugar – moments where we can think about nothing else other than cake, chocolate, ice cream and donuts. It’s important to remember that sometimes sugar cravings are completely normal! You know I’m all about indulging in moderation, you do not have to go without!

But if you’re seriously struggling with these cravings, or regularly experiencing significant ups and downs in your energy levels, it might be time to consider how you can stabilise your blood sugar levels.

We always want to aim to keep our blood sugar levels steady to manage cravings, keep our energy levels stable, and prevent fatigue, irritation and hunger!

So try these five foods to help regulate your blood sugar levels next time you’re feeling low in energy, or struggling with all the cravings!

1. Chicken

Chicken is SO high in protein, which makes it amazing for supporting your blood sugar levels! Including protein with each meal will do wonders for stabilising glucose, and chicken is super simple and easy to add into your daily diet!

2. Legumes

Again on the protein train, this one is for all the vegans, vegetarians and pescetarians out there! Legumes are a fantastic non-animal source of protein, and will really help balance your blood sugar levels. Try adding lentils to a stir fry, curry or stew for a warming, comforting meal which will leave you satiated and energised for hours!

3. Avocado

Healthy fats like avocado are incredible for making you feel fuller for longer, and keeping your energy levels consistent. Avocado is one of the most versatile foods. Add it to breakfast, lunch, dinner OR a snack to help stabilise your sugar levels!

4. Sweet potato

Sweet potato is super high in fibre (especially if you eat the skin too – yum!). It also has a very low glycemic index (GI) when it’s boiled, meaning it’s excellent for stabilising blood sugar levels. Not only this, it’s super nourishing, packed with vitamins, and will keep you full and energised for ages!

5. Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been proven to support healthy blood sugar levels and reduce sugar cravings – plus it’s delicious! I love to add it to smoothies, roasted vegetables, stir fries – literally anything! But if the taste doesn’t appeal to you or you want an extra boost, I’ve also added cinnamon into my Metabolism + Sugar Support vitamin – a powerhouse of ingredients helping to stabilise your glucose levels, reduce cravings and support your metabolism!

Let’s banish those cravings, angels!
